The Itinerary

Day 1: The Gathering (D)

• Arrival: Welcome to Stavanger. Our private transfer will whisk you to your hotel.

• Evening: Exclusive Welcome Dinner at one of Stavanger’s premier traditional restaurants to toast to the journey ahead.

Day 2: Swords and the Old World (B)

• Morning: Visit the iconic Sverd i fjell (Swords in Rock). Kristian will share the saga of Harald Fairhair and the unification of Norway.

• Evening: A guided twilight stroll through Gamle Stavanger (Old Town), exploring its 18th-century wooden architecture.

Day 3: Artifacts and the Blue Fjords (B) (L) (D)

• Morning: A deep dive into the Museum of Archaeology, home to significant Viking finds.

• Afternoon: Private Fjord Cruise through the Lysefjord to experience the North’s towering cliffs and emerald waters.

• Evening: Group dinner in Stavanger.

Day 4: The Royal Seat & Festival Opening (B) (L) (D)

• Morning: Transfer north to Haugesund, the land of the Viking Kings.

• Afternoon: Arrival at Avaldsnes, Norway’s oldest royal seat. We begin our festival immersion at the Viking Farm on Bukkøy island. Watch as Vikings from across the globe set up camp in reconstructed longhouses.

• Evening: Welcome dinner in Haugesund at one of my favorite local taverns.

Day 5: Deep Dive into Viking Life (B) (L)

• Day: A full day at the Viking Festival. Explore the marketplace, witness artisan craftsmanship, and experience "living history" firsthand.

• Family Activities: Families can join "The Viking Hunt," a quest across the History Centre, St. Olav’s Church, and the Viking Farm. Children can try their hand at traditional Viking games, archery, and even "Viking for a Day" workshops where they dress in period clothing and learn the games of ancient children.

Day 6: Legends and Legacy (B) (L)

• Morning: Final festival day. Engage in interactive demonstrations like axe-throwing or witness combat reenactments.

• Afternoon: Visit the Nordvegen History Centre to understand why Avaldsnes was chosen as the "sacred place" where kings proved their descent from the gods.

• Evening: Enjoy a traditional Viking-inspired feast.

Day 7: The Sailing Town & Farewell (B) (D)

• Morning: Visit Haraldshaugen, the national monument over King Harald Fairhair’s burial site.

• Afternoon: A scenic drive to Skudeneshavn, one of Europe’s best-preserved sailing towns, for a seaside fisherman’s lunch.

• Evening: The Grand Farewell Feast back in Stavanger—a night of storytelling and a final toast to the "Power of the North."

Day 8: The Final Departure (B)
